Regional versions and where Remastered sits
Before any production notes, a map is needed, because this game carried a different title in almost every market. Turkey played Rosh Online: Son Destan, the international build went out as Karos Online, Latin America had Karos Latino and the Russian-language service was Karos RU. One client, several publishers. The table lists the names; after it we write down our own position.
The periods in that table are vague on purpose. We could not find documented release records, and a workshop log is the wrong place to dress a guess up as a fact. Where we know something we say how we know it, and where we do not, we say that instead.
Names, regions, publishers
| Name | Region | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Rosh Online: Son Destan | Turkey | The Turkish release. Most of the old complaint list we worked from comes out of this era, and it set our repair order. |
| Karos Online | International | The core brand name; the European years are remembered next to GameXP. |
| Karos Returns | International | A title used for bringing the game back after a pause. |
| Karos Latino | Latin America | The Spanish-language service, associated with Axeso5. We checked its terminology habits while preparing our Spanish texts. |
| Karos RU | Russia | The Russian service, «Карос Онлайн» locally. Our Russian translation keeps the naming that settled in during those years. |
| Karos Thailand | Southeast Asia | One of the regional releases. |
| NHN, Galaxy Gate | Origin and licensing | Company names that come up around the game's origin and publishing rights. |
| Karos Legacy | Community | The line where the server software was written from scratch; our foundation. |
| Karos Remastered | This project | Same client, rewritten server side, texts in eight languages. |
Why we call it a remaster
Because the work is a clean transfer, not a new composition. We are not rewriting the music; we are cleaning the tape and putting the missing channels back. The feel stays familiar: world, maps, class roles and the pace of the game are off limits. Everything that never worked properly, though, counted as fair game. Gear enhancement became a tiered system whose protection logic actually applies; soul stone and rune merging follow one consistent flow; dungeon entries and guild records were repaired; the damage calculation was rewritten rather than patched. Karos PvP keeps its old shape too: castle siege and mine war still run on the rules players remember.
How we part from the regional releases
On three points. Language first: each old service was written for a single market, while here eight languages live inside one build and the choice can be changed in game. Permanence second: the beta is not a sandbox that gets cleared, it is the first day of the service. Anti-cheat third: EAC-based protection, graded enforcement and a review queue a human reads, because the real damage in the old days was honest players quietly leaving.
What happens to beta progress at launch?
Beta applications are open. Test access and launch information will be announced on Discord.
When judging a Karos server — any Karos Online private server, ours included — read the configuration rather than the name; ours is written down in full. Class balance notes sit on Classes, how to download Karos and what your first hour looks like on How to Play, and the rules with their enforcement tiers on Rules. For a neutral account of the game itself, our sister site Karos Online exists for exactly that.
Trademark note: Karos, Rosh Online, Son Destan and the other marks mentioned here belong to their owners and appear only to distinguish the releases. This project is an independent private server with no link to the official publisher.
Karos, Son Destan, Rosh and Texyon: the names explained
This independent project is not an official continuation of those publishers. No transfer of their accounts or purchases is claimed.
- Son Destan: the Turkish edition associated with Joygame; a transition to Ignited Games was announced for its players.
- Rosh Online: Texyon Games published the Spanish edition. “Rosh Texyon” and “Karos Texyon” refer to that version.
- Karos Returns: a separate Steam listing exists. “Karos Retuns” is usually a misspelling of Returns.
