Karos Remastered Beta

From Son Destan to Remastered

This project did not appear out of nowhere. In Turkey the game was known as Rosh Online, in the era most players call "Son Destan"; across Europe and the Russian-speaking regions it was Karos Online, remembered mostly from the GameXP years. The order in which we rebuilt systems was decided by the habits of those years: guilds first, then sieges, then enhancement.

What we inherited

The game was operated in different regions and periods by different companies; the names that come up are NHN for its Korean origin, GameXP for the international service and Galaxy Gate on the Turkish side. What we inherited is none of those companies, it is the player culture they left behind: people who sat down at their desks in time for a siege.

The old complaint list

Our rework list did not come from nostalgia, it came from concrete complaints, repeated for years. Unfinished translations and quest text nobody could follow. Burning enhancement stones with no idea what would happen next. Guild membership and leadership behaving strangely. Dungeon entries where party rules did not hold. PvP where a level gap ended the fight on its own. Each of those became a separate piece of work.

Why language came first

The real success of the Son Destan era was that people could play in their own language — and the real damage came when the translation stopped halfway. A player who cannot follow a quest text quits. That is why text was the first large job of the rebuild: interface, item and quest strings were carried into eight languages instead of being patched locally.

Community memory as a source

Where documents do not exist, the memories of long-time players were our only source: which event ran on which evening, which region a particular guild held, which item name was mistranslated. We do not print those recollections as facts, but they frequently decided which system got attention first.

What is different now

Eight languages; tiered enhancement with real protection logic; a consistent soul stone and rune merging flow; reorganised costume boxes; dungeon and guild faults repaired; a rewritten damage calculation; EAC-based protection with graded enforcement and human review. And one promise we intend to keep: whatever we hand out for free stays free, and we will never put a price on it later. For the game's own history and systems, Karos Online goes into more depth; the names are decoded on Versions and the first steps on How to Play.

Karos, Son Destan, Rosh and Texyon: the names explained

This independent project is not an official continuation of those publishers. No transfer of their accounts or purchases is claimed.

  • Son Destan: the Turkish edition associated with Joygame; a transition to Ignited Games was announced for its players.
  • Rosh Online: Texyon Games published the Spanish edition. “Rosh Texyon” and “Karos Texyon” refer to that version.
  • Karos Returns: a separate Steam listing exists. “Karos Retuns” is usually a misspelling of Returns.
